In an emergency call 999 and ask for the Coastguard

Around £300 has been raised for funds at the Whitstable lifeboat station following a ‘fish and chip’ evening held in the boathouse on Friday.

Atlantic 85 Lifeboat Lewisco was temporarily ousted from its boathouse and replaced by a hall full of dinners who in addition enjoyed entertainment from ‘Island Ukes’ who provided singing, laughter, and music with their Ukulele skills.

Diane Randall, Chairman of the Whitstable RNLI Fundraising Branch said “Our fish and chip suppers have been popular events in the past and this one was no exception. It was a good evening that worked well with everyone enjoying the fish and chips and Island Ukes performance and we thank all those who attended who have raised funds which will go towards the running costs of the station”.

Diane Randall continued “The next event at the station will be the Christmas Fair on Saturday 16th November. All the usual fayre will be on offer from including cakes to seasonal goodies along with all the other attractions including the tombola, raffle and soft toy stalls”.

“As ever the lifeboat souvenir shop and cafe will be open and the lifeboat will be on display outside the boathouse, the Christmas Fair is always a popular event and we hope to see both our regular and new supporters on Saturday and all monies raised will go towards the running costs of the lifeboat”.
