In an emergency call 999 and ask for the Coastguard

Whitstable’s Atlantic 85 Lifeboat was launched at 1.17pm on Saturday to a report of a 21-foot yacht becalmed and  broken down with engine problems 1-mile North of The Columbine in the entrance to the Swale.

A lifeboat crewmember went onboard the casualty vessel which in the meantime was taken under tow. Shortly after commencing the tow lifeboat crewmember Dave Parry managed to re-start the crafts engine following which he returned to the lifeboat and the yacht proceeded to Hoo Marina under its own power and the lifeboat returned to station.
