In an emergency call 999 and ask for the Coastguard Whitstable@rnli.org.uk

Stormy Stan the lifeboat man popped out from Whitstable Lifeboat Station on Sunday morning to the other end off the harbour to meet traders from the Whitstable Harbour Market and to present a certificate of thanks for the monies raised at Christmas events around the harbour including the visit of Father Christmas.

Whitstable lifeboat’s Mark Sidders said “Our thanks go to the traders for their help in raising £500 over the two weekends before the festive season, events at which Stormy Stan met numerous children and their parents and participated in activities around the Harbour Market Christmas grotto, the traders providing gifts for the children to be given out by Santa”

“The monies will go towards the continuing operating costs of the station. The lifeboat launched ‘on service’ on 38 occasions last year with July and August being the busiest months to a variety of calls in our area and, once again our thanks go to all those who support Whitstable lifeboat, its volunteer crews and the RNLI in its role of saving lives at sea”.
