In an emergency call 999 and ask for the Coastguard

There have been three  calls on for Whitstable lifeboat over the weekend.

On Saturday the lifeboat was launched at 6.04pm following a report of three persons and  a jet ski in difficulties with two of the crafts occupant in the water off Sea View Park, Swalecliffe.

However due to low water the lifeboat was unable to get close to the casualties but the crew  had both the jet ski and the Herne Bay Coastguard Rescue Team under observation and the latter reported that the jet ski and its occupants were safe onshore. The lifeboat therefore returned to station.

The lifeboat was called again over the weekend when on Sunday at 8.48pm crews responded to a report of a yacht in difficulties off Herne Bay to the east of the Kings Hall. The 20ft craft and its occupant was taken in tow to an anchorage off  Whitstable harbour.

The lifeboat was launched again this time in the early hours of Monday morning at 2.18am to the same vessel which was then taken under tow to the south quay of the harbour.
