In an emergency call 999 and ask for the Coastguard

Whitstable Lifeboat was launched at 5.13pm on Thursday 30th March to assist a broken down angling boat with two persons onboard off Beltinge, Herne Bay.

The lifeboat located the craft, a 16-foot ‘Yorkshire Coble’ drifting a ½-mile offshore, its anchor rope having parted.

The lifeboat took the craft and its occupants under tow for Herne Bay and landed them ashore at Neptune Jetty.

This was the 2nd call of the day, the lifeboat having been launched earlier to assist a wind farm vessel and there have now been 5 calls on Whitstable’s volunteer lifeboat crews so far this year.
