In an emergency call 999 and ask for the Coastguard

The four occupants of a speedboat were brought ashore by Whitstable’s Atlantic 85 Lifeboat Lewisco after their craft broke down off Faversham Creek with an electrical failure on Sunday evening.

The lifeboat launched at 7.28pm and the crew located the vessel, a 16-foot Fletcher speedboat 100-yards north of the Sand End Buoy in the entrance to the Swale, the craft’s occupants having managed to restart the engine which had subsequently stopped again.

The lifeboat took the craft and its occupant’s under tow and landed them ashore at their launch site at Leysdown, Isle of Sheppey.

The owner of the speedboat and his three passengers, two males and one female came from London. Weather conditions at the time were south westerly force 1-2 winds.
