In an emergency call 999 and ask for the Coastguard

Whitstable Lifeboat was launched at 6.28pm following a report of three persons stranded on the old Herne Bay Pier Head on Friday evening.

The lifeboat arrived ‘on scene’ and located three males all in their early 20’s with a partially deflated dinghy.

The three were brought onboard the lifeboat and landed ashore at Neptune Jetty into the care of the Herne Bay Coastguard Unit. They were unharmed.

This was the 11th call of the year for Whitstable’s volunteer lifeboat crews.

Weather conditions: South Easterly force 2 winds.
Good visibility.
