In an emergency call 999 and ask for the Coastguard

Whitstable Lifeboat was launched at 4.20 pm on Sunday following a request from the UK Coastguard to search between Shellness and Warden Point, Isle of Sheppey for a despondent male whom it was thought had entered the water.

After 21-minutes at sea the lifeboat was stood down when it was reported that the police had located the man safe and well onshore. The lifeboat therefore returned to station.

This was the 6th shout of 2017.
