In an emergency call 999 and ask for the Coastguard

Whitstable’s Atlantic 85 Lifeboat Lewisco was launched at 9.25pm on Monday to a report of a dinghy with four persons onboard in difficulties off   The Ship public house, Herne Bay.

The lifeboat arrived in the area and the crew spoke to the three occupants of two small inflatable dinghies which were returning to shore who stated  that they had been fishing and were not in need of assistance.

The lifeboat continued to search the area until it was confirmed that the two dinghies were the craft seen by the informant and the lifeboat therefore was released to return to station.

Launchers: Clive Best, Andy Clarke, Andy Mayo, Mark Sidders, Vicky Kypta and Liam Sidders.
